FUNDRAISING IN THE
UNITED STATES

Our NGO, Friends of CABA, works to fundraise for our causes in the United States. We do this through hosting numerous fundraisers and receiving donations from generous donors.

OUR PARTNERS

We have partnered with the Head of Pediatrics, Dr. Brew, and the occupational therapy team at the GARH hospital. In her neurological assessments, Dr. Brew decides which children need funded therapy.

THE CHILDREN

The children have a range of neurological disorders, from autism to cerebral palsy. Their parents cannot afford to pay for therapy that their children desperately need, which is not covered by insurance in Ghana.

SPEECH AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

The sponsored children receive free speech and occupational therapy. Dr. Brew determines which therapy and how often the children need it in her neurological assessment.

Accra is the capital of Ghana, a country in Africa that does not recognize disabilities as a medical need. Thus, health insurance in Ghana does not cover speech and occupational therapy and families need to pay for it out of pocket. We decided to focus on helping lower income families pay for the therapies that their children desperately need.

Neurological Assessments

This is the room where Dr. Brew conducts her neurological assessments of the children to determine what kind of therapy the children require.
