Nagaland is a state of two million people, mostly from tribal communities, situated in North-East India. Along with a high poverty rate, Nagaland is the state with the highest HIV prevalence rates in India. The village of Pangsha, which is on the border with Myanmar, is particularly affected. Therefore, our efforts are focused on helping the children in this village.
PROVIDING AN EDUCATION
As a result of corruption in the area, the public school in the village is never open because the teachers do not show up. Thus, we send the children to a nearby private school where they can receive an education. We are currently sponsoring the education of 19 children affected by AIDS in Nagaland.
